Eligibility Criteria for UPPSC PCS 2026
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as of July 1, 2026. This means candidates should have been born between July 2, 1986, and July 1, 2005 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university is the minimum qualification for most posts. Some specific posts may require higher qualifications (e.g., Master's degree, Law, Engineering, Education, Agriculture, Psychology, Computer Science degree). Candidates in their final academic year or awaiting results can also apply but must submit a self-attested certificate during the Main Examination's Detailed Application Form (DAF) submission.
- Physical Standards: Specific physical requirements apply to certain posts like Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and District Youth Welfare & Pradeshik Vikas Dal Officer. For DSP, male candidates generally need a height of 168 cm and a chest of 81.3-86.3 cm. Female candidates for DSP generally need a height of 152 cm and a weight between 45-58 kg. Vision requirement for DSP is 6/6.
