PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 23rd Installment 2026: All You Need to Know
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana, a flagship Central Sector Scheme launched in 2019, continues to provide crucial income support to landholding farmer families across India. The Government of India aims to empower farmers by providing direct financial assistance.
The much-awaited 23rd installment of the PM-KISAN scheme is scheduled for release. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release this installment on June 20, 2026, from Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal. This installment covers the April to July 2026 cycle, benefiting over 9 crore farmers, including women. The previous 22nd installment was released on March 13, 2026.
It is crucial for all registered PM-KISAN farmers to complete their eKYC to ensure they receive their installments without interruption. The last date for completing PM Kisan e-KYC for 2026 is June 30, 2026.

PM Kisan Scheme Benefits and Eligibility
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmer families receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year. This amount is disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, every four months, directly into beneficiaries' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Must be a landholding farmer family (husband, wife, and minor children) collectively owning cultivable land as per state land records.
- Land must be registered in the farmer's name in state/revenue records before February 1, 2019.
- Aadhaar card is mandatory for all family members.
- Bank account must be active and linked with Aadhaar (NPCI seeded).
- eKYC must be completed.
- In 14 states, a Farmer ID (Kisan Pehchaan Patra) is mandatory for new registrations.
Exclusion Categories (Not Eligible):
- All institutional landholders.
- Farmer families where one or more members hold constitutional posts, are current/former Ministers, MPs, MLAs, Mayors, Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
- Serving or retired officers/employees of Central/State Government, PSUs, Autonomous Institutions, and Local Bodies (excluding Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV / Group D).
- Superannuated/retired pensioners with a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more (excluding Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV / Group D).
- All persons who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year.
- Professionals like Engineers, Doctors, CAs, Lawyers, Architects.
- Farmers who acquired land ownership after February 1, 2019.
- Cases where more than one family member is receiving benefits.
How to Apply for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
Farmers can apply through the official PM-KISAN portal, Common Service Centres (CSCs), or via their village Lekhpal/Patwari/Krishi Sahayak.
Online Registration via PM-KISAN Portal:
- Visit the official PM-KISAN portal (pmkisan.gov.in).
- Go to 'Farmers Corner' and click 'New Farmer Registration'.
- Select 'Rural Farmer Registration' or 'Urban Farmer Registration'.
- Enter Aadhaar number, mobile number, and select your state.
- Fill captcha and click 'Search'.
