The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has released its 23rd installment on June 20, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed over ₹18,880 crore to more than 9.44 crore farmers across India, including over 2.18 crore women farmers. This significant financial aid is transferred directly to beneficiaries' Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism. Since its inception in 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme has disbursed over ₹4.46 lakh crore, providing crucial income support to landholding farmer families.
The Union Budget 2026–27 has allocated ₹60,000 crore for the PM-KISAN scheme, reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector. Eligibility Criteria for PM-KISAN Scheme
To benefit from the PM-KISAN scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The scheme provides income support to landholding farmer families, which include a husband, wife, and minor children, collectively owning cultivable land as per state/UT land records.
- The land must be registered in the farmer's name in the state or revenue records.
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- An Aadhaar card is mandatory for all family members.
- The farmer's bank account must be active and linked with Aadhaar.
- e-KYC must be completed.
Exclusion Categories (Who is NOT Eligible)
Certain categories of individuals and families are excluded from the PM-KISAN scheme:
- Institutional landholders.
- Farmer families where one or more members belong to the following categories:
- Present and past holders of constitutional posts.
- Present and former Ministers, State Ministers, Chairpersons of District Panchayats, Mayors of Municipal Corporations, Members of Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha or State Legislative Assemblies or State Legislative Councils.
- Every retired and serving employee and officer of Central or State Government Ministries, Offices or Departments and its field units, Central/State Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) and attached offices, and autonomous institutions under government, and local bodies (excluding Class IV/Multi Tasking Staff/Group D employees).
- Every superannuated or retired pensioner with a monthly pension of ₹10,000 and above (excluding Class IV/Multi Tasking Staff/Group D employees).
- Every person who paid Income Tax in the last assessment year.
- Professionals registered with professional bodies and carrying out professions by undertaking practices, such as Engineers, Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, and Architects.
- Farmers who acquired land ownership after February 1, 2019, may be excluded.
- Cases where more than one family member is receiving benefits (e.g., both husband and wife, an adult member and minor, etc.) may have benefits temporarily withheld until physical verification is completed.
How to Apply for PM-KISAN Scheme (Online & Offline)
Online Application Process:
- Visit the official PM-KISAN website: pmkisan.gov.in.
- Go to the 'Farmers Corner' section on the homepage.
- Click on 'New Farmer Registration'.
- Select 'Rural Farmer Registration' or 'Urban Farmer Registration' based on the location of your farmland.
- Enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number, and select your state.
- Fill in the captcha and click 'Search'.
- If you are a new farmer, the portal will ask 'Do you want to register yourself?'. Click 'Yes'.
- Fill the PM Kisan Form with your personal details, bank account number, IFSC code, and land details (Khasra/Khatauni).
- Upload the required documents.
- Complete e-KYC through OTP verification on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Click 'Submit' to complete the form.
Offline Application Process:
- Through Common Service Centres (CSCs): Visit your nearest CSC with your Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and land records. The operator will fill the form and submit it.
- Through Revenue officials or designated authorities: Visit your village Lekhpal, Patwari, or Krishi Sahayak with your Aadhaar, bank passbook, and land records. The officer will upload your details to the PM Kisan portal.
How to Check PM-KISAN Beneficiary Status & e-KYC
Status-Check Process:
- Visit the official PM-KISAN website: pmkisan.gov.in.
- Under 'Farmers Corner', select the 'Know Your Status' tab or 'Beneficiary Status' option.
- Enter your registration number, Aadhaar number, or mobile number.
- Fill in the captcha and click 'Search'.
- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP on the portal and check your payment status and installment details.
e-KYC Process (Mandatory):

पीएम-किसान योजना के लिए पात्रता मानदंड
पीएम-किसान योजना का लाभ उठाने के लिए, आवेदकों को निम्नलिखित मानदंडों को पूरा करना होगा:

अपवर्जन श्रेणियां (कौन पात्र नहीं है)
व्यक्तियों और परिवारों की कुछ श्रेणियां पीएम-किसान योजना से बाहर रखी गई हैं:
- संस्थागत भूमिधारक।
- किसान परिवार जिनके एक या अधिक सदस्य निम्नलिखित श्रेणियों से संबंधित हैं:
- वर्तमान और पूर्व संवैधानिक पदों के धारक।
- वर्तमान और पूर्व मंत्री, राज्य मंत्री, जिला पंचायतों के अध्यक्ष, नगर निगमों के महापौर, लोकसभा या राज्यसभा या राज्य विधानसभाओं या राज्य विधान परिषदों के सदस्य।
- केंद्रीय या राज्य सरकार के मंत्रालयों, कार्यालयों या विभागों और इसकी क्षेत्रीय इकाइयों, केंद्रीय/राज्य सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उद्यमों (PSEs) और संलग्न कार्यालयों, और सरकार के तहत स्वायत्त संस्थानों, और स्थानीय निकायों के प्रत्येक सेवानिवृत्त और सेवारत कर्मचारी और अधिकारी (कक्षा IV/मल्टी टास्किंग स्टाफ/समूह डी कर्मचारियों को छोड़कर)।
- ₹10,000 और उससे अधिक की मासिक पेंशन वाले प्रत्येक सेवानिवृत्त या सेवानिवृत्त पेंशनभोगी (कक्षा IV/मल्टी टास्किंग स्टाफ/समूह डी कर्मचारियों को छोड़कर)।
- प्रत्येक व्यक्ति जिसने पिछले मूल्यांकन वर्ष में आयकर का भुगतान किया था।
- पेशेवर निकायों के साथ पंजीकृत पेशेवर और अभ्यास करके पेशे का संचालन करने वाले, जैसे इंजीनियर, डॉक्टर, चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट, वकील और आर्किटेक्ट।

ऑनलाइन आवेदन प्रक्रिया:
